Reply:I am a programmer and I can tell you this...

Decide - program on the computer vs web programming

Decide - Work for yourself vs someone else

Find the time for school... or at least a study group. even if it is just taking certain classes at a community college... you will need the people to talk to ....

Programming is very demanding on the brain.. you must learn the theory behind it and the syntax on how to make it work.

IF you go the book/ web route which is possible, you will need to find people that you can talk to about it. Especially if you haven't done any programming at all....

Feel free to keep me posted on your endeavor.

Reply:Take courses at local college. I took it at junior college to start out.
Reply:Wirth's "Algorithms + Data Structures = Programs". But you WILL have to put in time - more than going to school would take.
