Pascal is designed for beginning programmers, and is fairly easy to grasp the basic concepts. Borland Software has made their Turbo Pascal program available for free download, and there are a lot of Pascal tutorials out there.
Another way to start would be to get the O'Reilly book "Learning Perl" by RLS and work through the excercises. You can get perl for free, also.
I am intresting to learn computer programming which computer programing is sutible for beagenaiers?
I recommend C style languages if you don't want to appear like an amateur. C# is similar to VB.Net, and it's a little easier, but at some point I highly recommend learning C and / or C++.
Reply:C or C++
Reply:‘Jade’ - Never may have never heard of it.
It an Object-Oriented language and has it own in built database
It is free to develop in!
You can easily learn how to use on-line.
Please check out

http://www.jadeworld.com/jade/tutorials.... for the excellent tutorials.
This a very easy and powerful language to learn.
Reply:I actually first learned C++, and then moved on to Java. I did not bother with Basic. C++ was just easier for me to understand, but that is just me.
I personally think the syntax of the C language family is easier to learn than most other languages.
Reply:I would go with VB.NET or C#. They are as easy to use as any other, and are very supported by Microsoft and the programming community as a whole. You can download the express editions for free, and get plenty of tutorials from the web.
Reply:Big question subject to debate!
I personally started programming in BASIC. But I guess that would not be anyone's first choice.
A lot of universities teach Java. Which aint bad, but there are better choices.
My first college programming language was Scheme (a LISP varian). It is brilliant to understand the basics for any type of programming paradigm.
Then I suggest you look at different paradigms by different languages:
Functional: More LISP
Procedural: C is a must
OO: Java and Ruby are excellent.
Scripting: Perl, Unix Shell
And finally to become proficient and understand the nitty gritty details, how about some:
C++ and C#
x86 Assembler - really! even some basic and intermediate examples
PHP or Phyton and Javascript
And then specialize in whatever you fancy.
SO basically go out and explore, but start with something not commercial.
Reply:You can start by learning Visual Basic 6.0 or Visual Basic .NET, both have friendly interface, easier-to-understand language structure and terms, plus tons of support and knowledge resources in the internet.
Other choice, the C family language, rather difficult for begginners, but it is the most powerful tool and will make you easier to move on to the other language of its kind (like PHP, Java, Delphi, C#, C++ etc.)
It is up to you.
