If you want to learn any of Microsoft's .NET languages, the Express versions are found here:

It's still a Microsoft World and you can't go wrong learning these languages...

Reply:Go to http://www.geeksonline.com and read up...
Reply:I made a website at www.weebly.com It's free. Here's mind www.reallybored.weebly.com good luck with that! Maybe get a CD that will teach you too! Google it too!
Reply:If you want to program actual games with graphics and such, macromedia flash offers 'action-script' which is a simplified version of C++. It also has a lot of help within it, with a built in choice of expert or beginner interface so when you program in beginner you can have preloaded scripts to help. With flash you can make games like: http://www.addictinggames.com
Reply:I think that's a good time to start. I got really interested in computers and the internet when I was about your age. Some friends of mine and I made a few websites and I toyed around with HTML and JavaScript.

When Doom and Quake came out, I played around with making "mods" for both of those games, it was pretty cool when I learned to make the rockets do 4x damage for the first time.

You can get a *really* good start by looking at things on the internet. The reason is that everyone wants you to learn their programming language of choice. You should look around to see what you like, but when you're starting out it doesn't matter too much. You'll get the basics of writing programs, compiling them, and running it.

I like to use python because it has an "interpreter," once you install it, you can type in the commands and it will run them right away and tell you what happened. I think this is really useful because you can see if something works or not; I usually have two windows open, one with my python interpreter running and the other one is just a text editor where I'm writing the program bit by bit.

If you are on windows, you can get ActiveState python by clicking on that first link below (it'll start downloading). See if you can work through the python tutorial (it is the third link down below).

Good luck!

Reply:Well no one does actual programming anymore.

There are three kinds of web learning you could take...

web design (including css and html) database administration (like Oracle), and an interface between the two.

If you are interested in creating web sites you'll need to know those three things. A company typically wants their site to display a

product and allow orders.

Or you could be talking about mainframe administration? Unix or Linux?
Reply:My brother learned C++ when he was 13, not all of it mind you but he started then and you probably can too. C++ is a very useful language and you can go here, http://www.cpp-home.com/forum/index.php

to learn more about it.
Reply:Get the book "How to Think Like a Computer Scientist: Learning With Python" by Jeff Elkner, then use it. If you're on Windows, Notepad+ should work for programmming. If you're on a Mac, TextMate. On Linux, Gedit or Kate should work fine. On any of them, a really nice IDE is Eclipse (it has Python plugins).
Reply:I think that the best way to learn programming would be the same way that I did:

1) 'program' your brain to think logically like computers do, MAKE A WEBSITE (use HTML)

2) Make your website DO STUFF (use Javascript)

3) Move onto OBJECT ORIENTISM (try Java, and there's an EXCELLENT program called BlueJ which can help with this).

4) THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER

5) Learn how to program applications using the skills which you have learnt.

Don't expect to get to stage 5 without a struggle, you can't become a guru game programmer overnight, it takes a certain thought process... and this only comes with time.
