Yeah that's more than enough for a developer system. I have a comparable setup at work and have no problems using all the resource hogging development tools I need.

The only problem you might run into is the fact it's a laptop. I think developing on a small keyboard with some doofy touchpad and a tiny screen is downright miserable. I would at least get a mouse if you're just going to be toying around. But if you find yourself doing a lot of development you'll probably want to get a full sized keyboard and a separate monitor too(which would also allow you to do dual displays which is the greatest thing ever for development).

I don't know about XP Media Center. I've never used it, and every Windows development machine I've ever used had the Professional version of Windows. I don't know if this is required for some tools or not, but it's something you should be aware of.
Reply:I don't like dells, but this ought to work plenty good for you.
Reply:It should be fine. However, consider that the code in a web application is run by IIS--not necessarily on the dev system unless you're hosting the prototype site. Even then I think you'll be fine. That said, I'm familiar (write books about) Visual Studio and the resources it takes. I would expect DreamWeaver to be comparable.
Reply:Dreamweaver is iffy, but basic coding with, like, notepad is no problem.
