I am familiar with HTML and CSS, which really aren't programming languages, but are worth mentioning I guess. I also am pretty familiar with the programming for a Ti-83, which is a lot like BASIC, though I haven't even used BASIC. I am really just looking for something pretty easy, but a good bit powerful; I am a quick read, and I'll pick something up fast.
Oh, and a guide which teaches me your suggestion would be nice too.
Which programming language should I try to learn first?
I really recommend high level languages like Python and Ruby. They are both mainstream languages (used commercially and so on), are easy to pick up, and are powerful. Plus if you intend to be a serious programmer, you'll know multiple languages of which one of them will probably be either one of the above.
Google for Python. http://python.org is the main website, and you should browse through the documentation section. Python has a number of books available for free online as well.
Reply:Java is good, but one area that is in high demand that can bring you cash results in the future is in PHP programming. You can visit http://www.php.net or http://www.phpbb.org to get some examples of what is needed and how to do it. My site below also will teach you the difference between HTML and XHTML which is the new website coding of the future. Hope this helps
Reply:first learn C language... then C++ and after that VC++
Reply:Yes,try Visual basic.
You can get tons of source codes %26amp; tutorials here
www.pscode.com
Reply:Maybe java. You can download a software called blue J and also some java Software development kit stuff and experiment with that to test out java programming. There are probalby a lot of sites that offer lessons as well. I am taking a class for school at cisco.netacad.net but I don't know how easy it is to get in if not enrolled in a class. Java would be my recomendation. Also, the boolean if then and else and while type statements are very similar to ti 83 basic.
Reply:u know html and css, if u r interested in web programming then go first to javascript, it is fun.. and if u really like it, then i suggest trying with asp.net ( u can use basic, c#, c++ langages inside..)
happy coding :)
Reply:visual basic, it's the easiest, you can get it for free on microsoft's website
Reply:c#, c++, visual basic, and COBOL are simple Programing languages.... but if you want real power your going to need Machine Language... the master code to all programing languages.... If you want out smart every computer programmer out there you need it... they can change the program but when the computer restarts... it goes back to the original machine language... this is why our computers can reboot themselves sometimes after a memory dumb or fix themselves even when you mess with the code. I wrote a few programs but when I learned machine language I became powerful... other programmers try to mess with my computer but were shocked when the program corrected their changes... that's because I wrote it in machine language which you can't change with programing language... machine language is what makes the computer run! and gives programing language it's power... Naturally if programing language gets its power from machine language it can't be greater.
