I am pretty bad at it and because of that I hate it. But I know there are some topics that I just have to learn as I am learning programming. So please can anyone tell me exactly what to learn and if possible with some suggested texts.
What should I learn in maths as a programmer?
it is not some much of, you have to learn math the program. not nowadays anyways because of the high level programing like C++, C#, Java, etc.
The basics of math that you need to learn are simple problem solving techniques. An example of this is training yourself to understand the many different ways to reach the answer of the problem. Ill try to explain this: Lets say that I have the answer of 25 and ask you how I got it. Well you can say, oh, you can get it by adding 5+5+5+5+5, but problem solving techniques let you know that you can also do it 5x5 which is simplier of the computer and will help your program become less confusing and faster.
Sry if it is hard to understand. But math is an important subject for programing, just not as important as it used to be.
Reply:First, Algebra I %26amp; II, programming is all about variables and constants. Calculus won't help you write your code, unless you are making a program that deals with calculus. Geometry and Trigonometry arn't great unless you are making a program dealing with those things.
